Have you ever noticed how much easier it can be to tackle the day when you have a plan or routine?
Humans are creatures of habit; we must do the same repeatedly to get good at it. So whether it’s business, your personal life, or your health and fitness, you must follow a routine and stick with it.
Routines are important because they give us structure. They also help us stay organized and provide us with an easy way to measure our progress.
One of the best ways to start is by having a morning routine.
A solid foundation is essential for reaching your goals and accomplishing your goals each day. A good morning routine sets the tone for the rest of your day by moving your body. Also, by giving structure to your thoughts and activities and allowing you to develop healthy habits . And those will benefit you in the long run.
To establish a morning routine, you must begin getting up early and waking up half an hour earlier than usual.
Start one habit or action you can do. It can be drinking water the moment you wake up to hydrate yourself. This helps you awaken and get your mind thinking better.
Next is by doing some breathing exercises, also known as Box breathing.
You can start with three seconds because that’s doable. Breathe in, hold for three seconds, breathe out for three seconds, and hold out again for three seconds. And then do that three times to start yourself since it takes a little while to get used to it.
You can combine it when meditating. If you can’t sit still for long, you can start with 30 seconds to a minute. Not only can meditation help reduce stress levels, but it can also help with concentration and clarity in the moments before you start your day.
Another good habit of incorporating into your morning routine is reading for 10 to 15 minutes or ten pages daily.
This feeds your mind many positive things to help jumpstart and motivate your day. You can also take 30-minute morning walks outside or in a park. This can get your heart rate up while giving you time to process your thoughts and intentions for the day. Depending on your personality, you can walk calmly or listen to podcasts or music. Plus, going for a walk outside will provide you with extra fresh air and Vitamin D, leaving you feeling energized and motivated to get things done throughout the day.
And last and most important thing is to fuel your body by having a light but healthy breakfast.
It’s no secret that having a routine helps us be productive and organized. Without the right method, you may be unorganized and feel like you’re not getting anything done . That’s why using a calendar when creating your routine is the key to success. Calendars help set up your days.
How much time do you want to spend working?
How much time are you allotting for fitness?
How much time are you spending with your family?
All those nice things need to be planned out. Plus, calendars make it easy to set reminders so that nothing slips through the cracks. Hence, having a morning routine allows us to control the start of our day instead of letting it control us.
We get motivated when we start, BUT when we’re disciplined and become consistent, we see results, and that’s where all the success happens.
Just remember: it’s important not to overdo it with too many activities at once – pick just two or three that will help boost your energy and focus throughout the day since the type of activities included in your routine will depend on what works best for your lifestyle.
At the end of the day, having a routine is all about finding what works best for YOU and sticking with it.
