Becoming the Best Version of You in 2022

Are you tired of the same old? Ready for a change in 2022? Most of us set goals and resolutions at the beginning of the year, but it’s sometimes hard to know where to start. Many people go through life without knowing their purpose and live a life that is not fulfilling.

So how can you do this?

To be the best version of ourselves, we need to assess ourselves and ask, “what do I really want in life?” It doesn’t necessarily mean material things, but you need to dig deeper into the real reason why you’re doing what you’re doing. Why do you do something? Why do you get up every morning? What do you want to accomplish? And what’s holding you back from achieving these things? Time, money, knowledge, the right mindset, or the right people in your life to help support you are some of the roadblocks that are limiting you in your success and what you want out of life.

Once you have a good understanding of your WHYs, hold onto them tightly and don’t let go! They’ll be the driving force behind everything you do from now on. Hence, re-evaluate yourself to know what you are doing to take care of yourself. Do you get enough sleep? Do you drink enough water? Do you eat enough to help fuel your body? Do you exercise? Do you work on your mindset, having the right thoughts? Do you know how to manage your stress? Do you have gratitude and grace for yourself? Do you manage your alcohol intake? These are all some great questions and things you need to work on. Because all of these can also be limiting roadblocks to yourself, and you need to be the best you can be in these areas to function at a higher level.

Taking care of yourself also means setting up a scented candle, sitting, and just watching it. Do some breathing exercises; five seconds in, hold for five seconds, and five seconds out. You can repeat it five times. Have some positive affirmations; you can do it by listening to a video or looking in a mirror, listening to some podcast, reading a book, having a walk at the park, or writing down your thoughts in a journal. Everyone is different, so do things that work best for you.

Things will change as you get better and grow. If you’re not uncomfortable, you’re not growing. At some point, you have to stop taking the easy way and staying in your comfort zone because everything you have learned is from getting uncomfortable or from failures. Each time you’ll learn a new set of skills to help you overcome challenges the next time they come up, and repeating this process, you’ll get to solve it faster, be more knowledgeable, and be more confident to handle bigger and better things. However, keep in mind that you don’t need to wait for the new year for the new you. It’s always been you, and you just have to start being the person you always wanted to be.
